Last night, wrapping up my regular night owl activity (researching something fashion, photography or inspiration-related while listening to great music), I had the urge to check Oprah.com and see if my photo was selected (out of thousands of entries) for her monthly Breathing Space Gallery.
A few months ago I started to regularly check Oprah.com, primarily to keep my eye on any topic that the producers will post that will pertain to my ongoing story. I also took the time to look around other features on her site and came across her “Spirit” section, chock-full of inspirational words, stories, and artwork. It was then that I discovered her gallery, submitted by people all over the globe, where 20 great nature-themed photos are selected to be apart of the collection.
After putting it off for a while, I decided to go for it in April. I didn’t make the cut. In May, I pulled one of my favorite flower pictures that I took- out of all places- at an office park. I told myself “They have to include this one” as I proceeded to submit it. And a few weeks later…they did!
There’s no winning prize, no money, no free tickets to Oprah Winfrey’s show. But Oprah.com is Oprah.com…bragging rights will be sufficient
